Test results

Getting your test results

If your GP or nurse has requested a test for you, the results usually take a few days to become available. Depending on the test, it could be longer and you will be advised of this at your appointment.

If you have not received your results, you are able to access them in the following ways once they are available:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • in your SystmOnline account
  • by phoning us on 01761 413155 after 11:30am, select option 1 for reception followed by option 2 for test results

If your test was requested by the hospital then you will need to contact the consultant’s secretary for the results.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor who originally ordered the test.

We do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Blood test results – usually available within 3 to 5 days.

X-ray & scan results – usually available within 3 weeks.

Blood pressure monitoring

Some patients have their own blood pressure monitors and like to give the surgery their recordings, rather than having to come in to see the nurse.

If you would like to hand in your own BP reading please complete them on the form below.
