CQC Inspection May 2023

CARE QUALITY COMMISSION – UPDATE 2023

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.

The CQC makes sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourages them to improve.

It monitors, inspects and regulates services to make sure that they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publishes its findings, including performance ratings,  enabling people to make informed decisions about care.

The CQC ensures that patients are cared for in a safe environment by fully qualified and well supported staff who are regularly updated and aware of all policies that support patient safety, dignity and confidentiality.

Elm Hayes Surgery underwent its first CQC inspection since the pandemic in May this year. We are currently awaiting the full report, which will be shared on our website, in due course. However, we have received notification from CQC that we are required to make some improvements in the way we undertake patient medication reviews and monitoring. We are currently reviewing and improving this process to ensure that we meet the CQC criteria and deliver the highest quality care possible for our patients. We will provide an update regarding this as necessary.

In the meantime, please be assured that we continue to provide an excellent service to our patients and have face-to-face appointments with health care professionals available on a daily basis.

 Thank you.
